“Since 2019, Our Large Secondary School Has Had Its Library Closed Every Lunch Period.”
Since 2019, our large secondary school has had its library closed every lunch period. This has left students without a supervised and safe place to study.
The situation with the library is really due to understaffing, which has resulted in the doors remaining locked. This not only limits students' opportunities to study but also prevents them from volunteering and socializing, activities that are vital for their personal development and well-rounded education, and many students have advocated for access to the library during lunch.
We need adequate funding of schools to ensure a more inclusive and supportive environment for all students, especially those who are most vulnerable and in need of additional resources and support so that services like the library remain open to them.
