“Lack of Funding Has Resulted in Serious Problems in Our Schools.”

Lack of funding has resulted in serious problems in our schools. A lack of teachers and supply teachers has meant: a halt on excursions for students, and cancelled classes. We also have fewer resources for students with needs, including educational assistants and mental health supports.

This doesn’t even cover the physical resources missing: broken volleyball nets, out-of-date computers, incompatible and unusable software, broken projector screens in nearly every class, and no paper! No paper in a school!

When it rains, water pours down through the roof; in the winter broken radiators mean everyone inside is freezing; skylights that are surrounded by water damage and covered with discarded art pieces as a quick fix. Students education is suffering, and health and safety concerns are mounting quickly. We need funding for schools now!
