“This Workload for Both Students and Teachers Is Unmanageable.”

Many students in my school have an individual education plan and special education placement. After de-streaming along with program cuts, students were suddenly expected to handle a more challenging curriculum without supports from Education Assistants or smaller class sizes.

As an occasional teacher, I’m also reluctant to accept any long term occasional teaching jobs. Underfunding means not enough occasional teachers. This, in turn, means that full time teachers are burning out covering for each other. That means, for a long-time occasional, you could asked to cover full-time positions with no prep.

This workload for both students and teachers is unmanageable.
