“This Winter, I Had No Heat in My Classroom at All.”

This winter, I had no heat in my classroom at all. My students were nice about it and didn’t complain but did express that it was cold. Some never took their winter jackets off. I know there are different kinds of heating systems in our school and some of those heating systems work while others don’t. We got very lucky this year with a relatively mild winter so the lack of heat didn’t affect us as much as it might next winter. I believe that if our school had adequate funding, heat during winter would be recognized as an essential and inalienable right and the problem would have been rectified.
