“It Is Sickening To See the Lack of Care Shown to Our Working and Learning Environments.”

My school is in a well-to-do area with generous parent support. What the parents don’t know, is that the physical building is falling apart. The paint on my ceiling chips off in large chunks daily and lands on my students’ heads, and the hallways and stairwells are filthy dirty and have dangerous chipped tiles on the floor. Most recently, my blinds broke, and I’ve been told it could be YEARS before anything is fixed or replaced.

Because there are not enough caretakers hired at the school, my floor has gone unmopped for the whole year. Now, we have a mouse infestation. It is sickening to see the lack of care shown to our working and learning environments.
