“We Are Never Allocated Enough Teachers to Run the Courses Students Want.”
I am on the staffing committee and every year we are never allocated enough teachers to run all the courses that our students want to take. We are forced to collapse classes that have 20 students who were hoping to take it. In order to build programs, our music/ arts department are forced to sign off on 40 kids or more in their classes. This has a detrimental effect on students' learning. There are either way too many kids in the class or their choices can't run due to lack of resources/ staff. It is harmful to student learning and overall class environment. Smaller class sizes, more selection, proper pathways- these are all essential to our students' success!
