“These Students Deserve the Support They Need.”
I have a large number of students in each of my three classes.
The students come with a wide variety of life circumstances and needs and my classroom is becoming increasingly complex.
Many of my students have IEPs mandating writing evaluations in a separate, quiet room, with a Spec Ed Teacher. During one of my periods there is no Spec Ed Teacher to accommodate this need. The consequence is they can must take time out of another class, and write the assessment then, losing class time.
Some of my students require one on one assistance, and I am unable to provide that help on anything more than a superficial level. These students deserve the support they need, and teachers must be provided the resources to do it.
