Since the pandemic, there have been teacher shortages across Canada.  They impact almost everyone in the school because if there is an uncovered class for regular classroom teachers, learning support teachers are pulled out of classroom support and asked to cover.  So librarians and other resource teachers, who provide learning supports to students on Individual Education Plans, are pulled away to cover certain classes for the day.  Both students and teachers are impacted by this with students acting out behaviourally, and teachers who are leaving the profession in droves because of burnout and the lack of supports.
