(Via InsideHalton.com) – The Halton District School Board’s $920.3-million budget, which will be presented for approval in two weeks, is coming with a gloomy forecast for student resources and supports, and a call to action from trustees.

HDSB has said it is one of the lowest funded school boards in Ontario. As escalating costs dwarf provincial funding, the board faces increasingly difficult decisions. The repercussions this year include increased class sizes for special education and kindergarten, reduced supports for literacy, fewer classes in secondary schools and reductions in facilities maintenance, said board chair Amy Collard in a news release issued prior to the public budget presentation Wednesday.
